Optimal Placement of Distributed Generation for Real Power Loss Minimization

Distributed Generation is the generation of electricity from many small energy sources and is located closer to the user, or customer. This paper presents analytical method to determine the optimal location to place a distributed generation in radial feeder model to minimize the real power loss of the system. The analytical expression and the methodology are based on the power flow method. The propose method is tested on 12 bus radial feeder model. The simulation results are given to verify the proposed analytical approaches.
